5 of the Best Breweries in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex

Over the past several years, northern Texas has exploded with new breweries turning out delicious craft beers. In a place where the law used to actually prohibit breweries from serving directly to consumers, dozens of fantastic breweries – offering tours, events, and food – now dot the landscape.

If you're a craft beer enthusiast passing through Dallas – Fort Worth area, you're going to have some tough decisions to make. There are just too many breweries to hit in one trip. However, we're here to help with a list containing five of our favorites.

Rahr & Sons Brewing Co.

You'd be hard pressed to find a heritage of quality microbrews as deep or strong as that of Rahr & Sons. Founder Fritz Rahr established the brewery in 2004, as a continuation of the Rahr family's multigenerational passion for brewing.

Since then, Rahr & Sons has grown from a small 2000 barrel per year brewery to one that produces well over 20,000 barrels per year. Furthermore, the brewery has won more than 50 awards for its various beers. This brewery is a north Texas must-drink!

Deep Ellum Brewing Co.

As the largest brewery in Dallas, Deep Ellum is positioned not only as a producer of great beer but also as a hub for local events and a community gathering place. The brewery crafts a whole slew of delicious beers, too many to list here.

Martin House Brewing Company

Having just set up shop in 2012, Martin House is already off to a great start. Their year round brews and seasonal offerings can be found in bars, restaurants, and retail stores throughout the metroplex. What's more, Martin House is committed to sustainability and environmental consciousness, which is why they choose to distribute their brews only in cans, growlers, or taps – no bottles here.

Four Corners Brewing Co.

Launched by three friends who met by happenstance at the Brew Riot in Oak Cliff, Four Corners has taken off and never looked back. The brewery is located west of downtown Dallas, and its proprietors work hard to gather inspiration and influence from their surrounding community.

Peticolas Brewing Co.

Great beer can come from unlikely places – unlikely people too. Michael Peticolas was a fifth generation trial lawyer when he decided to ditch the courtroom and pursue his passion for crafting high quality beer.
