At Tom's Mechanical we have plenty of competitors in the heating and air conditioning business. Some charge more than we do, and some charge less. Our approach is to figure out what it costs to provide excellent products and service, add a reasonable profit margin, and charge accordingly. That formula has worked for us for the past 54 years - by this point, we think it's a comfortable balance.
One way or another, companies must earn a profit to remain in business. We hate to hear horror stories from customers who only took price into consideration when they purchased HVAC services, then got exactly what they paid for. Almost without exception they paid more in the long run than they would have by choosing a quality contractor.
Good employees are hard to come by and they command (and deserve) excellent pay. Our employees are among the best in the business and they don't come cheap. However, our customers are willing to pay a little more to have repairs quoted honestly and done correctly the first time.
