5 of Arlington's Best Restaurants

Mar 22, 2014

The Arlington-Fort Worth metroplex is packed to the gills with restaurants of all shapes and sizes, each one vying for the business of visitors and natives. Like most cities, a handful of local favorites beat out the rest. But, if you're passing through, finding those local favorites isn't always easy, meaning you often are forced to take a gamble when choosing a spot to eat.

That's why we've compiled a short list of a few of the area's best places to enjoy a meal. From a casual bite to eat to a classy night out, one of these five spots should fit the bill.

David's Barbecue

It's hard to beat genuine Texas barbecue. And within the league of genuine Texas barbecue, it's pretty hard to beat David's. David's Barbecue serves handcrafted barbecue by the pound and on sandwiches or platters. Paired up with a variety of down home sides, including fried okra (a personal favorite), onion rings, and fresh potato salad, David's outstanding barbecue is a real treat.

Sauces are available, but we doubt you'll need them. Check out the full David's menu at David's Barbeque Yelp page.

Piccolo Mondo

Piccolo Mondo has served exceptional Italian cuisine in the metroplex area for over 30 years. With a diverse menu composed of authentic, traditional dishes, Piccolo Mondo is undoubtedly one of Arlington's top spots for an evening of Italian dining. And an elegant atmosphere, accented by a piano bar and soft, ambient lighting, makes this spot perfect for a romantic dinner.

Istanbul Grill

Visit the only Turkish restaurant in the Arlington-Fort Worth area for a truly authentic middle eastern experience. Dishes featuring lamb, beef, chicken, and seafood are prepared in traditional manner with a melange of side dishes.

Potager Cafe

Based on an unconventional business model, and fueled entirely by locally sourced ingredients, the Potager Cafe is truly a one-of-a-kind establishment. The Potager menu changes almost daily, depending on what can be sourced from local farmers and ranchers at the time, and diners are encouraged to pay what they think their meal to be worth – no set prices.

The homey feel and honest, wholesome fare make the Potager Cafe a spot in Arlington that's not to be missed. To schedule your visit, keep an eye on the Potager Facebook page for menu updates and other information.

Cacharel

With a menu comprised of customary steakhouse accouterments and fine French influence, Cacharel is perfect for the meat-and-potatoes type diner in search of simple cuisine cooked to perfection. Cacharel offers a set price menu, allowing diners to choose a combination of appetizer, entrée, side, and desert for one price. An a la carte menu is available as well.

For a more casual and affordable outing, consider the Cacharel lunch menu – a great option to get a taste of what they have to offer without having to budget for a higher ticket meal. Get a full menu and explanation of the restaurant at http://www.cacharel.net/.
