Commercial Packaged Gas / Electric
Available Units
Combination Heating / Cooling
With an air-cooled packaged gas-electric system all air moving fan, heating and refrigeration systems are contained in one weatherproof enclosure located outdoors. Ductwork is normally used to direct and distribute air to the interior of a building or home. Gas-electrics utilize electricity to drive the compressor, condenser (outdoor) fan and evaporator (indoor) fan to produce cooling. Electricity is also used to energize the evaporator (indoor) fan in heating mode (the compressor and condenser fans are not energized in heating on gas-electrics). However, natural gas is utilized, in a controlled combustion process, to provide the primary source of heat (with an accessory kit the unit may be converted to LP gas usage). These systems range in sizes from 1 – 130 nominal tons cooling capacity and from 38,000 Btuh – 1,000,000 Btuh input heating.
